A plot on a Sundridge hill with extended views across communal landscapes inspired this multi-level, multi-zoned modern garden. Walls clad in corten and oversize troughs to match, contrasted with smooth black slate, all softened with a basic traditional pink planting palette of roses, hydrangeas and jasmin brought up to date with ornamental grasses and herbaceous perennials. We created separate functional areas: one for play with a hidden trampoline; one for outdoor dining; a social space; and a quiet zone. Bespoke features include a logstore moongate borrowing the views beyond the garden, a porcelain 'tiled rug', and corten panels laser-cut to match the wallpaper patten in the living room.
